Adoptstronauts:

A Brave New Program

Adoptstronauts

[uh-dopt-struh-nawts]

noun
1. Our Space Program.
2. The coolest 18+ adoptee thing since...ever.

You're an adult. You don't need structured activities or people telling you what to do.  Adopteen Camp-Conferences might not be for you anymore, but we're all still looking to make friends.

That's where Adoptstronauts comes in!

We want to embrace the adult you, and, at the same time, go on some epic, life-changing adventures together!  Whether we're backpacking around a country, camping on a scenic mountaintop, or grabbing dinner for an evening of conversation, we're excited to see you there.

Adopteen Conferences 2015

With our first summer of two Adopteen Camp-Conferences come and gone, we find ourselves doubly nostalgic for all of the memories and wonderful people we got to meet and catch up with.  What a crazy ride! Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with the magic!

Quick recap:

  • Denver, CO & San Diego, CA
  • 170 total attendees
  • 34 states
  • 5 countries
  • 1 big happy family

As we said last year, we wanted to start offering two summer Camp-Conferences in the hopes of providing more options for our growing numbers, while still maintaining the intimate family atmosphere that we feel so passionate about.  We did it, you guys!  We are super happy with how awesome our summer turned out and cannot wait to do it all again!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible San Diego volunteer coordinator, Felirose Dolor, the magical Carmel Maldonado, and all of our amazing event sponsors and workshop guests who helped make our 2015 conferences absolutely unforgettable!  Our Camp-Conferences would not be possible without our friends and their passionate support and expertise and we are always so grateful.

We'll see you in Vancouver and Washington, D.C.!

2015 Summer Adoptees Giving Back - Orphanage Service Trip

This summer's AGBOST brought 25 travelers to Luoyang City Children's Welfare Institute.  After landing in Beijing on July 9th and cruising through the Hutong, meeting with Vice-Director Chu of the CCCWA, and casually conquering the Great Wall, the group made their way to Luoyang, Henan on July 12th.

These trips never cease to inspire and transform.  Our group raised a total of 25,000 RMB (4,081 USD) for Luoyang City Children's Welfare Institute, which was used to buy a new air conditioning unit!  Six short days spent with the children of LCCWI and we left with tears and full hearts.  The children were all so loving and affectionate and we'd be lying if we said we didn't miss them every day.  There are no words to describe how wonderful it all was.

Thank you to our fantastic, fearless trip leaders, YY and George, and all of the wonderful staff and nannies of LCCWI for their endless patience and guidance.  What a magical trip.

Our 2015 Winter AGBOST takes off on December 20th, heading straight to Hangzhou Orphanage!  This will be our first ever Winter trip.  Send us warm thoughts and positive vibes!  We cannot wait.

Adopteen Shop

Pocket Tees! Pocket Tees! Pocket Tees! The Adopteen Shop is stoked on our new pocket tees!  Wear us out and show the world what you love with our five different styles! 100% of purchases go directly towards supporting the programs you love .  What's better than looking good  and doing good??

"What's Amy doing on the Moon?," you ask?  She's modeling the latest crazy endeavor of our Adopteen Shop -- Adult Onesies! (She's "modeling" a size Large)

In celebration of the launch of our newest program, Adoptstronauts, the Adopteen Shop is hoping to make some amazing adult onesies for the adventurers in all of us.

These fleece onesies would have the snuggly-ness of a thousand puppies (unless you're allergic to puppies, then pretend we said something else you love).  They will also have:

  • Embroidered Adopteen and Adoptstronauts logos on the front
  • Big 'ADOPTEEN' print on the back
  • Cozy drawstring hood
  • Full front zipper with convenient top & bottom tabs
  • Zippered hip pockets, pocket on right arm, and velcro pocket on left ankle
  • Super functional and practical butt-flap
  • 2-inch adjustable waist tabs
  • Would come in size XXS - XL (women, order a size down)

And best of all??  With every purchase of a onesie, you will have the option of purchasing a Snuggle Package (pajamas, stuffed animal, & blankets) for Adopteen to donate to an orphan in China or Haiti!

So. What we need to know is... Would you like one?? Tell us what you think!
