2019 Camp-Conferences

July 8-13: Adopteen Colorado Springs LEARN MORE

Because sometimes, good times are all you need.

The Adopteen Camp-Conference is our baby. It was our first program and was the thing that started this whole crazy Adopteen community.

We held our first Adopteen Camp-Conference in June 2008. Adopteen's Co-Directors, Amy and Art, were 18 at the time and had the simple idea of getting teenaged adoptees together in one spot to meet eachother and have a good time without any adult interference.

In the past 10 years, Adopteen has hosted over 20 Camp-Conferences with more than 1,000 attendees!

What Is It?

Let's start with what it is not.

  • The Adopteen Camp-Conference is NOT a cultural camp or a therapy session.
  • It is NOT a week-long "let's sit down and talk about adoption" conference.
  • It is NOT a sit-in-a-big-room-and-listen-to-important-people-talk event.
  • From the very beginning, we’ve just been here to have fun, celebrate and grow in our super awesome community. Adopteen is focused on providing positive and interactive opportunities for adoptees ages 13 and up to meet other adoptees in an open and supportive space, with programs completely organized and led by young adult adoptees. Adopteen conferences are the cornerstone of Adopteen and remain the largest of our programs. Being a teenager is hard enough, without the added questions about adoption. We want to make it not so hard - maybe even enjoy it a little. We want to celebrate, inspire, and take pride in who we are, where we come from, and where we’re going.

A few times a year, we come together to make a lifetime's worth of memories and friendships.

Sound too simple? Why don't you come see for yourself?

Where Have We Been? Where Are We Going?

We like to take the Adopteen Camp-Conference all over the place. Take a look and see where we'll be next!
